My Favorite Fall Maternity Trends (2021)

I am loving this whole pregnancy thing, because it gives me the best excuse to get a whole new wardrobe when the seasons change. (Okay, so I like it for other reasons too, but the new clothes thing is a big plus.) Especially since 9 times out of 10 I am feeling like a very large whale.

Anyways, since fall is right around the corner (basically here), I wanted to hop on and share some of my favorite fall trends. I am super frugal about spending money on myself, so if it is at all possible, these clothing options can also be worn if you aren’t pregnant. This post is going to include my favorite summer purchases that I get to use and roll over as the weather starts to cool, looks I have my eye on, and a hand full of stores that have some of the cutest fall options.

Summer Purchases that Double as Fall Looks

1.Adidas Grand Court Shoes

I got these shoes just before leaving for New York. I knew we would be walking long distances and I would need comfortable shoes, but being in New York, I didn’t want to sacrifice comfort or style. So, after lots of research, I chose the Adidas Grand Court. They have a foam insole and the outside style can be worn to dress down a dress or with jeans. I also do not think this style is going to be outdated any time soon.

I am excited to carry these shoes with me from summer to fall. I am looking forward to pairing them with sweater dresses, leggings, and ripped denim (maternity jeans) . I highly recommend these for any woman pregnant or not.

2.Bodycon Dresses

I bought a grey, cotton bodycon dress from TJ Maxx and I love it so much. The material is so comfortable and can be worn when paired with a sweater, denim jacket, tied up t-shirt, or by itself. I also want to say that the particular dress I got was not exclusively maternity, so it can be worn if you are pregnant or not. (I personally love styles like this because I feel so bad about buying clothes for such a short period of life. )

3.Walmart T-shirt Dress

These dresses are $8 guys! They come in like 6 different colors and they are so cute and comfortable. I bought a size up (s) incase the belly made it fit snug, but I actually wish I would have got my true dress size (xs). It isn’t super heavy weight, so it is perfect for a casual summer day, but certain colors (like the army green) would be a great summer to fall transition piece paired with a denim jacket.

4.Bike Shorts

I swear by this style of shorts. They feel modest, but still look flattering and can be dressed up or down easily. I had to buy a new pair in early August, because my pre-pregnancy pair were beginning to feel a little snug. I found a 2 pack of these shorts at TJ Maxx for $13. They are also not exclusively maternity, but I bought a medium and they are stretchy enough to pull over my belly in the most flattering way.

During the summer, I pair these shorts with cropped t-shirts, tank tops, or tied tshirts. In the fall I plan to add a cardigan over the tanktops and t-shirts and pair the shorts with light weight sweaters and oversized sweatshirts.

Fall Staples I Have My Eye On

I have been wanting overalls for years, but I can never talk myself into getting them. I feel like a nice (denim or cotton) pair of overalls would make for such cute fall photos when paired with form fitting mock-necks or a henley.

2.Snake Skin Booties

Pictured: Over-sized sweater and Snake skin booties. I couldn’t find either of these items online, but I will leave links to similar products at the bottom of this post.

Last year snake skin made its way back to the fashion scene. I wore a pair of snake skin booties for a try on at Nordstrom Rack and I did not want to take them off. They matched every outfit I tried on and they looked so sassy. They would be great with black leggings or to dress up any sweater dress for a night out!

3. Oversized sweaters and Cardigans

I have always liked these options, but especially now that I am pregnant. I can’t really pull off crop tops and skinny jeans any more, so I feel like oversized cardigans and Sweaters will be the perfect option to add some fall character to my outfits. An oversized cardigan can also be the staple accessory that moves an outfit from a summer look to fall.

4. Black Leggings

Black leggings will forever be on my Fall must-haves list. You can dress them up or down, they are so comfortable, and you can find them in so many different styles now. I prefer the metalic- look becuase it looks so much more chic when dressed up, but in reality any black legging will do. Leggings are also a great option to replace jeans if you don’t want to invest in exclusively maternity clothes. If you size up once or twice, the leggings will remain comfy while they stretch over your growing bump.

5. Wide Brim Hats

Have to be my favorite 2021 fall fashion staple. They are so cute and sassy, I feel like these hats are the perfect accessory to bring an outfit from basic day out on the town to a sassy girls night out outfit.

6.Henley Style Shirts

I do not know how I haven’t bought one of these yet. Every year they look so comfortable and neutral. I have seen these paired with overalls, leggings, denim, and sweats. They can so easily range from lounge-wear to cute fall coffee date look. I think these shirts will be the perfect piece to add to my collection to comfotably fit over my bump without making me look like a cow in late pregnancy.

7.Bodycon Skirts

The body con skirt falls in the same category at the body con dress. The only difference is that the skirts tend to be a little longer, so they can pull off a classier dressed up look easier than the dress can. You also can’t wear a skirt alone, but it is perfect when paired with booties and an over-sized sweater tucked just over your bump.

Go- To Boutiques for Fall Outfits

1.Pink Lily: Pink Lilly is constantly stocking their inventory and they have a little bit of every fall fashion item you can think of. They even offer cute fall themed graphic sweaters and tshirts for the whole family.

2.Reap The Sew: I just discovered this boutique, but they have some great fall options. They do not offer exclusively maternity styles, but so many of their items can be upsized and rocked as a mama-to-be.

3.XO Mandy Sue: They do not offer maternity clothes, but their fall options are on fire this year. They cannot seem to keep their shackets in stock. New products are dropped every Monday. Use the code LIVINTHESTYLE for 35% off your purchase.

4.Aspen and Company: for all of your go-to t-shirt styles. They make the cutest, quality graphic tees for the whole family at an affordable price.

5. Pink Blush Maternity: They have chic, trendy maternity clothes and offer a ton of non-maternity clothing options as well. This is the best option if you want maternity clothing with actual boutique quality. They have the cutest maternity jeans (which I think are pretty rare to find.)

Whether you have a growing belly or not, I hope something in this post helped you find the perfect looks to complete your Fall wardrobe this year. I left links below, check them out!

Success! You're on the list.
